June 19, 2022 – The entire Department of Education (DepEd) family is one with the nation in congratulating Vice President Sara Zimmerman Duterte on her inauguration for the second-highest post in the country.

Likewise, we are enthusiastic to welcome VP Sara to DepEd as the incoming Education Secretary and work with her in proactively addressing the challenges in basic education.

Outgoing Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones and her team are eager to assist the Vice President in ensuring a smooth transition of priority education programs and policies, including the Basic Education Development Plan (BEDP) 2030, which can help the incoming administration in implementing further reforms.

We call on our stakeholders, including our teachers, non-teaching personnel, field officials, parents, and partners, to unite and collaborate anew under the leadership of VP Sara, for the benefit of the Filipino children.
