The Department of Education CALABARZON Regional Office joins the nation in marking the 2026 National Women’s Month with a weeklong celebration from March 9–13, 2026, at the Regional Office grounds. Anchored on the national theme “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society,” this year’s observance highlights the shared responsibility of Women and Everyone (WE) in advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment. The celebration aligns with the Philippine Development Plan 2023–2028, which underscores equal opportunities, inclusive growth, and strengthened participation of all Filipinos in national development.

Guided by the sub-theme “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!”, the 2026 celebration honors the unique leadership qualities of Filipino women—rooted in empathy, wisdom, balance, and community care. Throughout the week, the Regional Office will hold various activities including the Her-Story Wall, the Babaylan Wellness Corner, and Lunch and Learn with Juanas Year 3, featuring the session “The Babaylan in the Workplace: Nurturing Leadership Amid Deadlines and Daily Demands” hosted by DJ Brye. These initiatives aim to showcase the resilience, contributions, and stories of women in the Regional Office Proper.

The celebration will also feature the Great GAD Quiz Bee (Regional Office Edition), open to all ROP employees, to promote awareness of gender and development concepts in an engaging way. Meanwhile, The Juanas in the Office will honor women who exemplify Babaylan-like leadership in their respective units, with recognitions to be presented during the Monday flag-raising ceremonies. All activities are funded through the GAD budget and spearheaded by the Human Resource Development Division (HRDD) in collaboration with the GAD Focal Point System. Through these efforts, DepEd CALABARZON reaffirms its commitment to cultivating an inclusive, empowered, and gender-responsive workplace.

Additional month-long initiatives include the hanging of the official Women’s Month tarpaulin, #PurpleWednesdays: A Month-Long Solidarity Challenge, Musika ng Kababaihan Friday, the use of the official hashtag #WEcanbeEquALL, and the adoption of the All-Women Cast Lupang Hinirang from the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) during all preliminaries.
