With the theme, ‘Strength in Unity: Championing the Spirit of One Laguna’, Division of Biñan City hosted the One Laguna Athletic Meet from December 11 to 14.
Once more after the successful event of 30th South East Asian Games in the same venue, the City of Life, Biñan City welcomed young local athletes of Laguna with a warm, remarkable, fantastic, and very colorful grand opening parade and program conducted on December 11. While the Mayor’s Night was held at Alberto Mansion during the evening of the same day.
The Local Government Unit headed by the very supportive City Mayor Walfredo R. Dimaguila together with different private schools of the city fully supported the Division led by the Schools Division Superintendent Edna Faura-Agustin in the preparation and hosting the most important sports event for the young athletes of Laguna Province.
The cauldron lighting highlighted the event as three Biñan Palarong Pambansa gold medalists, Patrick Crisostomo, Jeante Wangkay, and Summer Morante represented the delegates and carried the torch which indicated the formal opening of the Provincial Meet as SDS Agustin announced the beginning of the competition.
Around 2800 athletes and members of the Sports Committee from the divisions of Laguna, Biñan City, Sta. Rosa City, and Cabuyao City together with the Division Personnel, Local Government Units Representatives, led by Gov. Ramil L. Hernandez, Rep. Marlyn Alonte-Naguiat and City Mayors graced the opening event. Students from different private schools
namely Trimex College, St. Michael’s College of Laguna, La Consolacion College, and Biñan City Senior High School – San Antonio Campus made the event more exciting and colorful as they showcased their talents in street dancing and performing arts.
Raising of DepEd, Laguna, and delegation flags by the heads of each office started the remarkable event. Athletes and officials then pledged their oath to assure sportsmanship and fair competition. The guests of honor inspired the delegates to do their best, reminded them of their goals, instilled the positive values to be gained from sports, kept them motivated and united, and be proud to bring the name of the province in regional and national sports competitions.
Biñan City made sure to strengthen the oneness of Laguna delegates through a Solidarity Meeting held at Pagkakaisa ES on December 10. A warm welcome for delegates conducted by the billeting schools (Biñan ES, Malaban ES, San Vicente ES, and Biñan Integrated NHS) also happened on December 10.

Catalina College for Basketball; Pavilion Mall for Billiard; Biñan Grandstand for Boxing; Division Library Hub for Chess; Biñan City Football Stadium for Football; Holy Spirit for Gymnastics, Aero Gymnastics, Dance Sports, SPED Goal Boat, and Bocce; BSSAA for Sepak Takraw; Morales Mall for Table Tennis; Saint Francis Tennis Court for Tennis; Pagkakaisa ES for Volleyball; and Holy Infant of Prague Jesus for Wushu, Wrestling, and Pencak Silat.
