Santa Rosa Arangkada!!!!
Another milestone in the learning journey and experiences of grade three children was achieved as Education Program Supervisor in English Cherrilyn T. Nabor once again spearheaded the launching of International Literacy Day in the Division of Santa Rosa City, September 17.

With the theme “Literacy and Multilingualism”, the program aimed to promote the love for reading. The celebration was highlighted by Reading with Mayor Arlene Arcillas and Reading with Ma’am Helen Ramos, the Schools Division Superintendent, which captured and sustained the interest of select grade three pupils from 18 elementary schools of the Division. It was an extraordinary moment as the highest officials of the city and DepEd Santa Rosa City joined forces to become storytellers for the children who made extra effort in wearing national costumes of chosen countries. Evidently, a tremendous rapport between the storytellers and the children was keenly observed.

After the story reading time, children were asked comprehension questions. Those who answered correctly took home prizes such as story books, toys, and bikes. All the children also had the chance to bring home tablets courtesy of the Santa Rosa mayor.

Indeed, a fruitful and memorable reading day was served to Rosenian children. (Melannie V. Rivas, Master Teacher I-Dita Elemetary School Santa Rosa City)
