Strength, determination, focus, and dedication manifested among the athletes, coaches, trainers, and officiating officials in the District of Catanauan II, Division of Quezon’s Athletic Meet held on July 24. Indeed, it marked another milestone in the history of Tuhian Elementary School as it hosted the District-wide sports event for the first time.

The school administrator, teaching personnel, and other stakeholders  welcomed more than 200 delegates from 15 elementary schools in the said district. They came together to create stories of competition, camaraderie, and success.

She also expressed her gratitude to the members of Sangguniang Barangay headed by Leopoldo M. Quindoza for the support that they had given the school throughout the preparation to ensure that the hosting would be at its best.

Certainly, to be chosen as a venue for such kind of event was an opportunity as it showcased the remarkable improvement of the school in the last three years with regard to the intensive efforts of the internal and external stakeholders in assuring its continuous progressive development.

Public School District Supervisor Esmeralda N. Tan graced the event with her empowering, encouraging, and inspiring message.

She also emphasized that the athletes should manage sports and academics simultaneously.

On the other hand, the tedious preparations that entailed a lot of efforts, time, and energy spearheaded by Dann Carlo P. Pili, School PESS Coordinator paid off for the success of the annual conduct of District Athletic Meet was evident. All delegates were united with the spirit of sportsmanship throughout the duration of the game as they exerted their best efforts.

Zone 3 which comprises of Bulagsong Elmentary School, Doongan Ilaya Elementary School, Navitas Elementary School, and Sta, Maria Dao Elementary School bagged the most number of championship medals.

“Engaging ourselves in this kind of sports competition is definitely an excellent way to boost the qualities of the champion within us. Furthermore, it taught everyone the importance of camaraderie as well as unity. At the end of the day, it is not important whether we win or lose the game, as long as we fight with strong will, dedication, and determination, we are all champions,” said Jonny P. Cruzado, School head-In-Charge in Sports in his closing remarks. (Allan A. Talain, Teacher I, Tuhian Elementary School, Division of Quezon)
