Luis Palad Integrated High School of the City Division of Tayabas bagged third place in the National Jingle and MTV-Making Contest organized by the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (PNRI) and the Philippine Young Generation in Nuclear (PYGN) held at the PNRI Auditorium in Quezon City, July 26.
The contest aimed to increase public awareness, especially of the youth, in PNRI’s role as the lead government agency in nuclear research and development and nuclear regulatory matters, and to highlight the safe and beneficial uses of nuclear science and technology in agriculture, health and medicine, environmental protection, industry, and power generation.
The team of Angeli Jane Valencia, Erica Mai Cabuyao, Jomari Kirt Fabricante, John Lothar Baal, Vincent Ivan Resare, and Sean Flores, SHS STEM students, with their coach and Science Department Head, Marvin J. Rosales, bested other entries from various regions in the Philippines.
The jingle and MTV of Saint Louis University Laboratory High School of CAR won first place while the joint entry of Mapua University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Technological University of the Philippines Taguig, and Taguig City University got second place.
Other secondary schools, universities, and colleges that made it to the top 30 include University of the Philippines-Los Banos, University of Northern Philippines, President Ramon Magsaysay State University, Mindanao State University, Cagayan State University, Cebu Institute of Technology University, University of Cebu, Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Lipa, Marcelo H. Del Pilar National High School, Rizal High School, Santa Rosa Science and Technology High School, Caloocan National Science and Technology High School, Signal Village national High School, Tuguegarao City Science High School, Tabaco National High School, Manila Science High School, Batasan Hills National High School, Paranaque Science High School, and De La Salle University.
