Guided by Republic Act 8525, otherwise known as “An Act Establishing the Adopt-a-School Program and Providing Incentives Therefore and for Other Purposes”, which encourages private companies to assist in the delivery of better quality education to public schools in the country, particularly in the poverty-stricken provinces, Perez Central Elementary School conducted signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between DepEd and school partners on April 5.
Brigada Eskwela Coordinator Melchora A. Buerano facilitated the MOA signing. Buerano discussed the forth coming Brigada Eskwela, the programs, activities and projects that need the assistance and support of the stakeholders. She also reiterated the adoption of different part of the school wherein the school partners will develop and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the place.
Mayor Pepito C. Reyes and Vice Mayor Roberto R. Buerano accepted the adoption of the Eco-Park on the part of the LGU. They promised to construct concrete table and chairs. The voluntary work of the contractual workers will also be given. They will also participate in the Brigada Eskwela.
“Your proposal for the improvement of our school is a clear manifestation that the school is determined to compete. Documentation is very important for the success to the competition,” Reyes mentioned.
Punong Barangay Ryan Aguilar took the adoption of the left side of the school. He offered to donate playground facilities for the benefit of the children.
Punong Barangay Edgardo R. Avistado of Brgy. Pagkakaisa chose to develop the school’s Gulayan sa Paaralan on the right side of the school. He informed the public that the barangay allocated a budget for the construction of covered path walk in front of the school. They would also donate playground facilities.
General PTA President Norieta G. Pait commended the parents for their support in the school programs, activities, and projects. She reported that the proceeds of the fund raised in PCES Prince and Princess 2019 would go to the rehabilitation of the stairs and development of the Project Park within the school. She also accepted the challenge of the school to adopt the maintenance of other structures that were not allowed and do not have enough budget from the school MOOE.
Furthermore, Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P’s) is one of the strongest partners of PCES. They conducted monthly “Atag” to clean the school’s surrounding. 4P’s adopted the flower boxes on the upper part of the school. After the acceptance of the adoption and clarification, the school partners signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
PSDS Liliosa B. Diasanta, Principal Chona L. Canzana, Property Custodian Angelica L. Serrano, and Adopt-A-School Program Coordinator Buerano were all present and signed the MOA for the part of the SDO.
“I know thanking you is not enough for all your help, cooperation and projects that our children benefit. We are all hoping that you will not get tired of helping PCES. Thank you for your unceasing support,” Buerano said. (Melchora A. Buerano, Master Teacher I, Perez Central Elem. School)
