Tayabas West Central School II’s Alyana Marie Arpon’s wish that one of her teachers be given recognition by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was realized after her teacher, Honorata Bojos Tiemsen was honored during the school’s Moving Up Ceremony, April 3.
Catherine P. Talavera, Tayabas City Schools Division Superintendent, conferred Tiemsen the Certificate of Recognition for her exemplary commitment as a teacher, witnessed by Principal Ronan R. Ranillo and TWCS II teachers, Division Personnel, parents and guests and Grade 6 completers.
Through the endorsement of the Assistant Secretary Jaime Llaguno Mabilin, Office of the President-Presidential Complaint Center to Department of Education Undersecretary Jesus L.R. Mateo, and to DepEd CALABARZON Regional Director Diosdado M. San Antonio which beared PCC Code No. SE-GDP-11-21-2018-042, Arpon’s request was granted.
Through her letter, Arpon, SPG president and school paper editor-in-chief, listed the many commendable acts of her teacher, Tiamsen.
“Wala po siyang reklamo kahit siya ang gumastos sa pamasahe, meryenda, at tanghalian ng mga batang isinasali niya sa contest. Siya ang nagbibigay ng libreng papel sa mga batang walang maibili,” Arpon wrote.
Though the Certificate of Recognition was not signed by President Duterte, Arpon has been thankful saying, “Sobrang saya ko po na ang aking hinahangaang guro na laging handang magsakripisyo para sa mga estudyante niya ay naparangalan sa araw na ito.”
Tiemsen, too, who is now 58, expressed her gratitude, “Masaya akong nakatutulong sa aking mga mag-aaral. At Alyana, maraming salamat sa parangal na ito.”
SDS Talavera in her message said, “To some, what Mrs. Tiemsen has done is ordinary. But what makes her extraordinary is how she had made an impact on the lives of her pupils.” (Luzviminda E. Saludares, Education Program Specialist II, SDO Tayabas)
