Living up to its 2018 vision of sustaining, empowering and innovating, DepEd Cavite Province has continuously nurtured its research culture through its attendance in various local and international conferences.

As early as January, nine DepEd Cavite Province personnel joined the International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement (ICSEI) 2018 themed “Deepening School Change for Scaling: Principles, Pathways, and Partnerships” at the National Institute of Education in Singapore last January 8 to 12.

Headed by Schools Division Superintendent Cherrylou de Mesa, the team presented three research studies.

SDS de Mesa, Ivan Brian Inductivo, newly-designated OIC-Chief of Schools Governance and Operations Division, and Reniel Patrick Tejidor, Division Planning Officer, shared their paper on the Division’s quality management system ISO certification while Diana Topacio, OIC-Assistant SDS, Ma. Jovy Legaspi, Public Schools District Supervisor, Allain Alvarez, Senior Program Education Specialist for Monitoring and Evaluation, and Jonathan Jimenez, EPS II-M&E, presented their study on Division school-to-school partnerships.

Inductivo and Joel Espedido also imparted their research titled “Education for Global Citizenship: A Curricular Adoption and Reapproachment to Policy”.

Moreover, Philippines was also represented by DepEd CALABARZON Assistant Regional Director Francis Cesar Bringas who led his team in presenting a study on regional school-to-school partnerships.

Meanwhile, DepEd Cavite also presented four papers by Inductivo, Anna Marie Magsombol, and Jeric Javier, Mary Ann Gatpandan, Mark Anthony Ambos, and Neil Tirona in the 2nd commencement of BERF-funded research papers last January 23 to 24 at the Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.

Inductivo, Javier, and Magsombol discussed their paper on the happiness and health index of Division personnel while Ms. Gatpandan contributed a qualitative research on senior high school teachers. (Rey Ann M. Maramag, PDO I/ DIO)
