In its commitment to utilize ICT in education and let the students acquire 21st century skills, the Schools Division of Santa Rosa City under the leadership of SDS Helen A. Ramos had its partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to permit the schools to use their Tech4ED platform for free.

Tech4ED stands for Technology for Education, to gain Employment, train Entrepreneurs towards Economic Development which aims to bridge the digital divide and alleviate poverty in both urban and rural areas.

The Tech4ED Project provides access points for individuals and communities to bridge the digital and education divide. It promotes grassroots development and opportunities for inclusive growth and poverty reduction. It will give communities access to information, communication, technology, government services, non-formal education, skills training, telehealth, job markets, and business portals.

Prior to the launching, the Schools Division of Santa Rosa City thru the ICT Unit conducted a Division Tech4ED Center Managers Training on May 29-31, 2017 at ICT Training Center, SRES Central III, City of Santa Rosa, Laguna.

The training-orientation was conducted to help equip managers with relevant skills in transferring knowledge to learners.

The MOA Signing and Launching ceremony was held during the last day of the training.

SDS Helen A. Ramos, education program supervisors, public school district supervisors, ICT coordinators, school librarians, DICT representative and City Information Technology representative were present in the ceremony.  After the ceremony a center visitation was conducted to validate the counterpart requirements of school.
