SDO-Tayabas conducted a Division Writeshop on The Preparation of Assessment Tools training at Tayabas East Central School last April 24 – 28.
The five-day training aimed to materialize and produce a Test Item Bank for K–12 competencies in all learning areas that will be circulated through the Learning Resource Management and Development team.
“The preparation of the assessment tools must be based on the DepEd Order No. 8, series 2015 because sometimes biases occur. Hindi lahat ng tanong ay pwede sa lahat ng bata. We need to consider their capabilities and skills,” said Sancho Calatrava, EPSr – Araling Panlipunan during the plenary session.
The Test Item Bank is a breakthrough for the teachers to trim down their time in constructing formative and summative assessments.
“All teachers can view, select and use the appropriate test based on the competency of the learning areas by accessing [Test Banks],” remarked Generosa Zubieta, EPS-Learning Resources.
To make it tangible, the participants developed formative and summative assessment as well as Table of Specifications (TOS) that will be useful for all the teachers in all learning areas.
The following speakers facilitated the said training: Louie Fulledo, EPS- TLE, Sancho Calatrava, EPS- AP, Mildred Galleno, EPS-Kindergarten/ SPED, Melinda Buncayo, Kindergarten Coordinator, Christian Bables EPS- Filipino, Joseph Jay Aureada, EPS- EsP, Georgia Talabong, EPS- Science, Pelagia Manalang, Richelle Quintero, EPS- English.
