The Senior High School (SHS) department of Cavite National High School initiated in conducting a National Assessment and a Certification program for Bread and Pastry students.
The Exit Assessment was spearheaded by Vilma Bautista, SHS Bread and Pastry teacher, to determine if the learners are meeting the learning standards of the SHS curriculum. Prior to this, Principal Augusto D. Ferma, Jr. and Randie S. Salonga, SHS Assistant Principal for Academics, met the parents of Bread and Pastry students and emphasized the parents’ responsibilities in financially supporting their child for the assessment fee as the National Assessment is not free of charge.
Mrs. Bautista also spoke with the parents regarding the importance of the said assessment, the schedules, fees, and venues.
The students were then institutionally assessed as they performed the Bread and Pastry production processes wherein they made various bakery products within a given time limit.
Students who passed the institutional assessment, also known as the exit assessment, were awarded the certificate of achievement and were recommended for the National Assessment.
Eighty students qualified for the National Assessment which was held at the ISHRM School System in Habay, Bacoor, Cavite from March 20 to April 11, 2017.
The SHS TVL Track – Home Economics Strand now takes pride that all the 80 candidates for assessment are certified by TESDA in Bread and Pastry Production NC II qualification. (Vilma Bautista – Teacher, Cavite National High School)
