The city of Tanauan, Batangas celebrated the 2016 World Teachers’ Day last October 3 at the First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities.

With the theme, “Guro: Kabalikat sa Pagbabago”, the Division of Tanauan City led by the OIC, SDS Edna Faura, with event coordinator Xander B. Castillo-JEPS Soc. Mob. and the Parents-Teacher Association crafted activities like Battle of the Bands, Tawag ng Tungkulin, Awarding of Outstanding Teachers, and raffles to commemorate the teachers’ role in educating the children together with education partners.

Selected teachers were also given the chance to compete in the Mrs. Division of Tanauan City 2016. In their beautiful creative costumes, casual wear, uniform, and Filipiniana gown, 10 contestants from 10 clustered districts fought to claim the crown.

In the end, Mrs. Wilma Materio of South District I bested the others and was crowned Mrs. Division of Tanauan City 2016. Alena Rita Briton of South District 2 was declared first runner up. She was followed by Cynthia Dela Vega of North District 2  (2nd Runner Up), Joelma Corañez of North District I (3rd Runner Up) and lastly Maureen Perez of East District 2 (4th Runner Up).

All school heads, administrative officers, district supervisors, education program supervisors, education program specialists, SGOD Chief, CID Chief, Asst. Schools Division Superintendent and School Division Superintendent, actively lead all activities for the World Teachers’ Day celebration.
