The turn over ceremony of lesson exemplars with solid waste management and traffic safety curriculum integration for Science and Araling Panlipunan came into reality at Santa Rosa City Hall on Aug.15. These K-12 based lesson exemplars will be utilized by teachers in Grades 1, 2, 3, 4 for traffic safety and Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 for Science.
This is a joint project of Toyota Auto Parts as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in partnership with Department of Education, Local Government Unit of Santa Rosa, DENR, UP NCTSFI, Environment Management Bureau and National Solid Waste Commission.
Present in the occasion on the part of LGU were Hon. Congresswoman Arlene B. Arcillas, Hon. Mayor Dan S. Fernandez, Hon. Vice Mayor Arnold B. Arcillas, City Councilors Jose Joel A. Aala, Yna Clarissa B. Cartagena, Jun Tuzon, Roy Gonzales, City Environment and natural resources Head Erlinda Creencia. On the part of Toyota Auto Parts Mr. Hiroshi Futukani , TAP President; Mr. Emmanuel Mendoza , TAP General Manager; Miss Maritess Pua Admin Section Manager; Mr. Enrique B. De Ocampo, CSR Traffic safety Project leader, and Mr. Ervie M. Rodriguez, CSR, Environment project Leader. DepEd Officials headed by Schools Division Superintendent Helen A. Ramos, EPS-Science Dr. Luhinia M. Ofren, and Mrs. Lenila Leida B. Bartolome, Principal of Southville 4 ES, and Mr. Rolando Bato from the Rotary Club of Santa Rosa.
The Solid Waste Management module for elementary schools is a tool for making the children aware of proper waste disposal. On the other hand, road safety module will not only be a a fun learning experience but it will also be reference for children to be safe road users thereby lessening road related accidents involving children. These materials will enhance the skills of the children to develop their young minds in making learning more meaningful, challenging and leading to the principle, “Learning by doing”. Practicing proper solid waste management and traffic safety will ensure brighter future for our young generation. The said resources shall be part of the Division Learning Resource Management Development System.
