Division of Cavite Province’s Luis Aguado National High School-Supreme Student Government led the awareness campaign on the 2019 novel Coronavirus COVID-19 and health status monitoring of co-learners, February 5, in support of the government’s management of the public health situation.
Using the campaign poster provided through DepEd Memorandum 15, s. 2020 (First Set of Policy Directives of the DepEd Task Force nCoV), selected SSG officers, guided by class advisers, conducted room-to-room public information and awareness campaign among grades 7 to 10 learners. In coordination with the school disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) coordinator, the LANHS SSG officers also recorded the number of students suffering from coughs, colds, and flu, and ensured the strict hand washing and disinfection upon entry to their respective classrooms.
Prior to the actual campaign and health status monitoring, Flormina Aure, LANHS school head, discussed the policy directives and plan of action among class advisers. SSG officers were capacitated thereafter.
Aside from these initiatives, LANHS also plays a two-minute video campaign on the 2019-nCoV during students’ health class.
The set of activities will be implemented in the school for the whole month of February. (Kristalyn Ronato, Teacher III/ SSG, Luis Aguado NHS and Rey Ann M. Avilla, PDO I, SDO Cavite Province)
