Healthy mind, body, and soul complete the holistic characteristics of an individual. Awakening and developing the psychomotor and psychosocial skills not only contribute but complete the unbounded totality of learners. All of these are some of the benefits of being inclined to sports.

Sto. Angel District of Schools Division of San Pablo City recently concluded their District Meet on September 13. It was spearheaded by PSDS Roldan T. Acuin, Principal-Coordinators Azeneth B. Manalo and Eloisa I. Sarmiento, District Sports Coordinator Aldrin Belen, and all the School Sports Coordinators in collaboration with the coaches and trainers. A lot of preparations were done to make this event successful one, but classes were arranged to keep them uninterrupted.

The primary objective of this activity was to awaken and ignite the fire of talents and skills of the learners in relation to sports, for which San Pablo City is known as the home of highly competent youngsters. This will help them build their persona as not all honor-bringers are due to academic excellence but also because of sports. In addition, this is in support to the department’s program about sports which carries the theme, “Shaping the Future through Sports.”

The opening program was held at the Sto. Angel Elementary School headed by Principal Nilda T. Uayan and Assistant Principal Tessie Anog. Likewise, sports events such as chess, gymnastics, sepak takraw, football, badminton, and athletics were held as well in the said school. Other events such as basketball, volleyball, archery, and taekwondo were held at San Diego Elementary School headed by Liza Katigbak. Other sports events were done in other schools in the vicinity of Sto. Angel District, .

The event was monitored by OIC-SDS Ludy N. Pasagui and ASDS Neil G. Angeles. Their visit boosted the morale of the players for they have shown their wholehearted support and admiration to the learners competing for the torch of success. This event is just the beginning to keep the fire burning in the hearts of the young heroes of this generation in sports!
