After winning in the regional level, Schools Division of Calamba City’s Brigada Eskwela Jingle entry bagged 4th Place in the National Brigada Eskwela Jingle Making Contest.

The jingle was composed by five Grade 10 students specializing in Vocal Music of Calamba City School for the Arts(CCSA) who are all members of the Singing Ambassadors and Calamba Vocal Ensemble. These were Jellie Rain Nebalga, Ma. Antonette Camu, Jerome Espiritu Santo, Youone Christian Clamar, and John Loyd Dinolang. These talented composers were coached by Kurl Francis A. Dedumo who is a Music major currently taking up Master of Arts in Music major in Choral Conducting. As an aspiring conductor, composer and arranger, he guided the students in coming up with the winning jingle, “Tara na Mag Brigada Eskwela”.

Brigade Eskwela Jingle contest, as indicated in DepEd Order No.186 s.2018, is themed “Matatag na Bayan para sa Maunlad na Paaralan. It was aimed to encourage schools to showcase the talents of their learners in promoting volunteerism and partnership for the schools’ maintenance efforts and improvement before the opening of  school year 2019-2020.

“Tara Na Mag-Brigada Eskwela” emphasizes the participation and sharing of responsibilities among stakeholders in designing and creating schools with conducive facilities for learning. It also expresses the idea of why there is a need to participate, what shall be done, and what is the effect or the outcome of implementing Brigada Eskwela. This project aimed to motivate and encourage everyone to share their time in fixing classroom furniture, repainting rooms, and cleaning schools’ surroundings.

Having its authentic goal to serve and provide quality facilities to learners, this project was conceptualized and institutionalized. (Minariza M. Gillaco, EPS II/ Division Information and Action Officer, SDO Calamba City)
