In view of raising the level of reading ability of learners, Ipilan-Alitao Elementary School in partnership with Abundant Life in a Vine (ALIVE) launched its “Tito Marungko ALIVE” reading strategy program, October 21.

Marungko is one of the oldest Filipino reading approaches or designs to equip non-readers with the necessary skills to improve their reading ability most especially those in the primary grades. The “Tito Marungko ALIVE” is handled by the organization’s Marungko graduates of the program from University of the Philippines; it will run for a year starting this November.

The launching was graced by Jollibee Foods Corporation; Pastor Roberto Manrique, ALIVE Director; Elizah Davie of Eat Bulaga; ALIVE missionaries from CALABARZON; and Cris Abad, an international magician.

As agreed, Bible stories will be used as one of the primary reading materials to incorporate good values and Divine Wisdom among learners. (Ferdinand T. Glor, Principal I, Ipilan-Alitao ES)
