DepEd conducts training for EPSA

The Department of Education through the Bureau of Learning Delivery (BLD) in collaboration with the Students Inclusion Division (SID) conducted a training for Education Program Specialists-II for ALS (EPSA)-Luzon Batch from June 5-8 at the Harvest Hotel, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.

Joining the first ever assembly were selected EPSAs from regions I, II, III, IV, V, CAR and NCR, bring in about 203 participants.

The major concerns and training objectives were enhancing the knowledge, attitudes, values and skills (KAVS) for effective and efficient implementation of the ALS programs and projects as well as ensuring the comprehension of the curriculum.

Very well known and highly knowledgeable trainers and speakers from selected regions of Luzon were invited to share their expertise and insights, and clarify the duties and responsibilities on the program implementation.

In the morning session, Baltazar M. Gayem, SGOD Chief from NCR-Valenzuela City, extensively explained different methods of strategy as part of the 21st Century Teaching and Learning in ALS. Likewise, issues and concerns on Advocacy and Social Mobilization were extremely discussed by Dr. Anselmo R. Aludino, SDS from Region 1-Vigan City.

In the afternoon session, the participants enjoyed the chemistry between Dr. Ricardo Tejeresas, EPS II/Regional ALS Focal Person/RCOT and Marcelo Talamayan, EPS II/RCOT who came from region V and CAR, respectively. They both enlightened participants on Monitoring and Evaluation of Learners Progress and Learner’s Assessment activity and lecture. Moreover, they provided more insights on the effective use of assessment tools and portfolios.

The 3-day training programs were attended by BLD OIC-Director Marillette R. Almayda who inspired the participants in her concluding speech saying, “Everything we do, we do it for ALS learners.”
