SDO Cavite rolls out ORA-OHRA

Schools Division Office of Cavite Province rolled out the updated Omnibus Rules on Appointments and Other Human Resource Actions (ORA-OHRA) to its elementary and secondary school clerks and personnel in-charge of HR actions last January 16 to 17.

Division Human Resource and Management Officer Ellaine Balen, Administrative Officers II Teodoro Fulvadora Jr., Ronald Kevin del Rosario, Ruth Abigail Colocado, Marinel Peñalba, and Administrative Aide VI Norita Vasquez served as resource speakers for the cluster orientation of 257 school-based clerks and HR personnel.

They discussed the new rules and guidelines and addressed other HR-related concerns.

Effective since January 2, 2018, the ORA-OHRA 2017 modified the process of appointment, publication, and posting of vacant positions and provided new forms and set of requirements which go along with the changes.

ORA-OHRA 2017 also amended the process of probation for senior high school (SHS), wherein teachers who would pass the board examination within five years will already be given two options thereof.

An SHS teacher under probation, upon passing the board exam, may strive to earn a very satisfactory (VS) for two rating periods to apply for his/ her entry position or may resign and re-apply for the same or other position.

Moreover, Personnel Selection Board was also renamed as Human Resource Merit Promotion and Selection Board.

Meanwhile, DepEd Central Office is expected to submit updated qualification standards to the Civil Service Council (CSC) on or before February 17, or all appointments which will be submitted beyond the said date will be disapproved.

At present, the updated merit selection plan and revised hiring guidelines for DepEd unique position are under Secretary Leonor Magtolis-Briones’ review. (Rey Ann M. Maramag, PDO I/ DIO)
