Government of Cavite Province acknowledges DepEd Cavite’s support in multi-sectoral programs

Provincial Government of Cavite (PGC), through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), acknowledged DepEd Cavite’s support in the implementation of programs and services for persons with disabilities, children/ youth, women, and migrants during the first multi-sectoral assembly last January 23.

Themed “Strong Partnership for a Sustainable Development Program”, the event gathered representatives from various PSWDO partner federations championing the rights of their group and the publics they are particularly catering to.

Federation of Senior Citizens Assocations of Cavite Inc., Cavite Federation of Persons with Disabilities, Provincial Government Employees Solo Parents Association, Day Care Workers Federation of Cavite, Pag-asa Youth Association of Cavite Inc., Cavite OFW Federation, and the newly-established Federation of Military Retirees and Veterans were also commended for their initiatives which served as the PGC’s input in developing more sustainable projects and programs for the Caviteños.

Participants of the assembly guaranteed their continuous support to PGC’s programs through a commitment signing activity.

PSWDO wrapped up the morning session through the presentation of its 2018 sectoral activities detailing the social services and other provisions to be rendered, while a medical mission and Dr. Jadaza Hintay’s motivational talk on partnership building between multi-sectors and government agencies concluded the assembly.

2018 shall give birth to other sectors mobilizing men opposing violence everywhere (KATROPA/ MOVE) and rallying the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) group’s rights.

Moreover, Alvin Mojica, Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office (PCLEDO) head and PSWDO consultant, introduced the PGC’s new project for children in conflict with the law (CICL). A drop-in center for CICL shall be fully operational this year.

On the other hand, DepEd Cavite is in the process of strengthening its partnership with the Provincial Health Office (PHO) by empowering the implementation and utilization of PHO’s teen health kiosks among schools under the Division’s purview.

These kiosks have been considered as an essential element in fulfilling the objectives of the Division’s banner program, Cavite Students Home for Education and Development (SHED). (Rey Ann M. Maramag, PDO I/ DIO)
