114 Lucena City teachers undergo multimedia training

57 Adopt-A-School Program (ASP) and 57 ICT teacher-coordinators were trained on different multimedia platforms at Lucena City Teachers and Employees Conference Center (LCTECC) last September 14 to 15.

Under the capable hands of Rodel Salson, System Developer and IT Officer I, participants were trained Website Development, Digital Photography and Videography.

Schools Division Superintendent Aniano M. Ogayon emphasized the utilization of ICT in teaching-learning process to revitalize schools to make them into dynamic, collaborative and innovative learning institutions where students can become more motivated, inquisitive and creative learners.

Dr. Belen Andal, SEPS-SMN discussed Adopt-A-School Programs (ASP) and Projects, steps in Effective Resource Mobilization as well as Marketing and Advocacy. She reiterated the 8 areas of ASP Packages that need to be focused on, depending on the needs of the schools such as infrastructure, physical facilities and real state, learning support, health and nutrition, reading program, technology support, direct assistance, training and development and assistive learning devices for students with special needs. From all these programs and projects, ASP coordinators and ICT coordinators are tasked to create a database and advocacy campaign materials in order to bargain their schools via digital photography and digital video production with their stakeholders.

Simultaneously, Hernando Cortez, ICT Coordinator in GGNHS-Ibabang Talim Extension, and Angelito Villalon, ICT Coordinator in LCNHS-Main, talked about digital photography and digital video production. This training capacitated the participants on capturing relevant information and managing of captured images, audios and videos for the purpose of multimedia instructional materials development and/or event documentation as wells as digital video production on school promotions.

Cristina B. Rogelio, ITO I, spearheaded the said training to integrate ICT into the curriculum which includes the development of multimedia instructional materials that ensure efficient and effective learning opportunities.

The said activity helped participants create school websites and content build-up by providing templates based on mature web content management systems platforms; promoted division and schools’ best practices, programs and projects  to strengthen the division initiatives on  partnerships and linkages; capacitated participants on  capturing relevant information  and  managing  of captured images, audios and videos  for the purpose of multimedia instructional materials development  and/or event documentation; and supported the government goal of institutionalizing a corporate identify for all government websites  by having a common look and feel that will also facilitate the ease of use and navigation for users.
