Tayabas City Division Stand Alone Senior High School signs MOA with industry partners

A Memorandum of Agreement for Work Immersion Partnership was signed between the Tayabas City Division and its industry partners last August.

Tayabas City Division was represented by its OIC-Schools Division Superintendent Catherine P. Talavera together with the OIC-Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Edwin Paul Navarro, CID-Chief Imelda C. Raymundo, OIC-Principal of Tayabas City Division Stand Alone Senior High School Gener C. Delos Reyes, and Immersion Program Supervisor Ferdinand T. Glor.

Meanwhile, tTeodoro Racsag represented Tayabas Community Multipurpose Cooperative (TCMC); Marion Saligay from Ada’s Resort and Spa; Haidee A. Nantes represented McDonald SM City Lucena Pacific Mall and Quezon Avenue; Jose Vargas was CVR Auto Shop representative; while Maridel C. Ballary and Ederliza R. Macabenta were from CSWD of Tayabas City government.

The Work Immersion Program is a course requirement for graduation of the newly implemented K to 12 Program by the Department of Education. In this program, Senior High School students have to undergo work immersion in a business organization in order to gain relevant practical industrial skills under the guidance of industry experts, appreciate the importance and application of the principles and theories taught in the classroom, enhance their technical knowledge and skills, and prepare them to meet the needs and challenges of employment, entrepreneurship, or higher education upon graduation.

The industry’s participation in this program is rooted on its vision to offer students opportunities to engage in lifelong learning and development and enhance their prospects for establishing a successful career.

Being the first batch of student beneficiaries in Tayabas from the program, Tayabas City Division hopes that they take the lessons they will learn and apply them in their daily lives. (Virgilio R. Jao Jr.)
