Metrobank Foundation named Schools Division Office of Cavite Province Jennifer Rojo as one of this year’s Most Outstanding Filipinos along with three other awardees for teacher category.

Agusan del Norte’s Edgar T. Elago, Teacher III from Magallanes National High School, Dr. Esperanza C. Cabrera, full professor and university fellow at De La Salle University-Manila, and Dr. Alonzo A. Gabriel, full professor and university scientist at University of the Philippines-Diliman received the same recognition for secondary and higher education category, respectively.

Rojo, a Master Teacher II from Neogan Elementary School, Tagaytay City, Cavite,  beamed with pride upon Metrobank Foundation’s telecasted announcement and interview of winners.

“Ang akin po namang layunin ay simple lang – makapagturo ng mapusong paglilingkod para sa ating mga batang Pilipino. Beyond excellence po, beyond your outstanding performance, mas kinakailangan pa rin po ‘yung naroon po ‘yung passion, pagmamahal, at pag-aalaga sa ating mga batang Pilipino,” she explained.

Metrobank Foundation’s annual search for outstanding teachers seeks to bestow honor to teachers who manifest profound commitment to the development of the youth through exemplary competence, effective educational leadership, and community impact. It also aims to inspire other teachers to achieve excellence in teaching.

Meanwhile, three soldiers and three policemen completed the list of Metrobank Foundation’s 10 Most Outstanding Filipinos of 2017 who will be formally awarded in September. (Rey Ann M. Maramag, PDO I/ DIO)
