SDO Tanauan trains Senior High Teachers on Career Guidance

In celebration of the Career Guidance Week, Schools Division of Tanauan City through the Youth Formation Program conducted a 3-day training for senior high school teachers at the NTC Nova Schola Tanauan last July 26-28.

As a result of  DepEd Memorandum No. 8, s. 2017 entitled “National Training of Teachers and Career Advocates for the Implementation of Grade 11 Career Guidance Program” and Regional Memorandum No. 150, s. 2017, the Regional Mass Training of Teachers on the Implementation of Grade 11 Career Guidance Program, the City Division cascaded the same training through the Division YFD Coordinator Xander B. Castillo together with the SHS Project Development Officers, Anne Jeliene C. Capacia and Reverendo Tenioso to ensure its implementation, which intended to equip teachers with concrete understanding on career guidance and capabilities to perform tasks to effectively deliver the program to the learners.

Serving as the Resource Speakers, National Trainer on CGP from Division of Batangas City Sheena Wella Arguelles discussed the Basic of Career Guidance Program and Regional EPS II Alona A. Encinares reiterated the Guidance and Counseling and its Legal Framework.

The topics of the training were the eight modules which were tackled by the SHS teachers who participated in the Regional Mass Training. They were Dr. Analee Rosita, Gerlie Lopez, Cecilia Casquejo, Anthony Balakit, Marilyn Lat, Marvelino Niem, Kristine Ann Carandang, Don Avelino, and Lawrence Icasiano.

The training was attended by all public senior high school teachers along with several DepEd Division of Tanauan City Officials headed by OIC-Schools Division Superintendent Edna Faura Agustin. The principal of NTC Nova Schola Tanauan, Ingrid Q. Mendoza, graced the opening program with her welcome remarks.

At the end of the activity, the career advocates were challenged to craft and organize programs and projects for Senior High School Students in making informed decisions regarding their choice of career and promote awareness in the importance of choosing a track that suits their skills and interests that matches the available resources and needs of the society.
