SDO Cavite Province raises more than P600K for displaced Marawi learners, teachers

P643,520.05 worth of donations were collected by the Schools Division of Cavite Province, through its Social Mobilization and Networking Unit for the displaced learners and teachers of Marawi.

Pursuant to DepEd Memorandum No. 98, s. 2017 titled Emergency Measures in Response to the Marawi Situation, the donation drive managed to gather thousands of in kind goods from private and public sectors and individuals from the Division.

Health and hygiene kits, blankets, shoes, school supplies, rice, canned goods, bottled water, noodles, and biscuits were turned over to the DepEd Central Office External Partnerships Service Department through Ms. Mary Ann Bruan on July 12.

84 percent (P538, 147.05) of the total donations came from the Division Office, DepEd Cavite-School Health Section, Western Colleges, Inc., Bagong Pook Elementary School, City of General Trias, Municipality of Carmona, Francisco Osorio NHS, Mil Den Academy, Olivarez College-Tagaytay, District of Maragondon, Bulihan NHS, San Roque ES, Gov. Ferrer Memorial NHS-Main, Trece Martires City ES, Municipality of Noveleta, Saint Charles of Borromeo Integrated School, Centennial Academy of the Blessed Trinity, Naic NHS, David P. Jimenez ES, Aliang ES, Trece Martires City NHS, DepEd-District of Ternate, Amadeo NHS, Talon NHS, Halang Banay banay NHS, Municipality of Gen. Meanwhile, Luis Y. Ferrer J/SHS and San Jose Community High School also raised P3000-worth of chocolates, relief goods, and bottled water, as well as letters of encouragement were turned over to Youth for Peace-Cavite North cluster last July 14 for their Chocolates and Letters for Marawi drive.  (Rey Ann M.
