RO conducts stage 2 mock audit in SDO Cavite Province

Extending its support for the School’s Division Office of Cavite Province’s bid for transparent, ethical, and accountable governance and quality service delivered through the ISO 9001:2015 certification, Department of Education CALABARZON Regional Office simulated a stage 2 audit for the SDO Cavite Province last July 10.

Headed by lead auditor and OIC-QAD Chief Edenia Libranda, Regional Office auditors reviewed the Division Office’s documented information and conducted interviews among the respective process owners. The division document custodian, unit document controllers, internal auditors, the top management and quality management representative (QMR) were subjected to an audit as well.

Libranda and Evann Lyn Cortez audited the Office of the Schools Division Superintendent, Office of the Assistant SDS, and QMR while Elena Lopez took charge of the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID).  Viernalyn Nama assessed the Human Resource Development and Personnel unit. Ma. Criscel Negosa was assigned to the Cashier, Budget, and Accounting unit. Virginia Bagacay conducted the Administrative Office, Records, and Supply audit. Lastly, Ariel Azuelo and Rey Valenzuela checked on the Legal and Information Communication Technology offices.

Moreover, Lourdes Catolico, Elino Garcia, and Jackie Lou Almira joined forces in auditing the Private Schools and Monitoring and Evaluation units. Michael Alba took charge of the Social Mobilization, Medical, and Dental unit while Karl Ebora audited the Planning and Research unit.

In addition, Valenzuela and Azuelo also conducted the documentation and records control audit while Garcia and Cortez audited the internal quality auditors.

Following the simultaneous audits, unit heads expressed their realizations and insights during the closing conference. They also extended their gratitude for the technical assistance that the RO auditors have provided.

SDS Cherrylou de Mesa and ASDS Elias Alicaya commended and thanked the RO auditors for sharing their experience and expertise towards the realization of the Division’s goal to be the first provincial division office to get ISO-certified.

In her closing remarks, SDS de Mesa reiterated the essence of the Division’s journey to ISO certification as she quoted the late Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo, “It’s not enough for an official to be good. There has to be a system that forces them to be good.”

The RO received its ISO certificate from AJA Registrars last June 29 while the SDO Cavite Province eyes to pass the actual stage 2 audit to be conducted by the same certifying body on August 17.
