DepEd Lucena conducts TA Roll-out Orientation

SDO Lucena City conducted the Division Roll-out Orientation Cum Workshop on Technical Assistance Support Mechanism and Process and Schools Clique: A Tour De Force at Lucena City Teachers and Employees Conference Center last July 12-13.

The two-day activity mainly aimed to provide guidance to division leaders especially the school heads in giving technical assistance to teachers. The Curriculum Implementation Division (CID), School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD), Office of the Schools Division Superintendent (OSDS), Principals and Teachers-in-Charge of schools in DepEd Lucena participated in the event.

Moreover, Andrea Maybel E. Abrencillo and Michael Girard R. Alba of the Regional Field Technical Assistance Division (RFTAD) served as speakers in the roll-out and answered queries of school heads regarding School to School Partnership Program. The RFTAD personnel capacitated the participants on how to provide TA especially to teachers.

“TA must be timely and relevant. It is provided anytime and there’s a necessity for it,” Abrencillo said.

Alba, on the other hand, highlighted that a successful provision of TA brings about accessible, complete, and quality basic education. Moreover, successful provision of TA prepares graduates for further education and the world of work and provide efficient and collaborative delivery of basic education services to learners.

Meanwhile, various other topics on TA provision were discussed by the speakers from the division. SGOD Chief Epifania F. Carandang, CID Chief Josephine T. Natividad, PSDS Nancy D. La Rosa, Principal of West 1 Elementary School Juvarta O. Tierra, SEPS-M&E Dr. Karina R. Bautista, and EPS II-M&E Angelo S. Villanueva served as lecturers as well.

The said speakers focused on the fundamental views on TA, roles and responsibilities on FGD on TA team and clients, TA support mechanism and process and TA providers’ competencies delivery and guidance principles. They also talked about mode, strategies, LAC, CI and research on TA, TA feedback, progress monitoring and reporting and harmonizing activities. Discussants gave talks also on management of learning, schools clique and Focused Group Discussion (FGD) on needs assessment and prioritizing and simulation.

Participants evidently took part in the workshops. Both SDS Aniano M. Ogayon and ASDS Joepi F. Falqueza inspired the leaders that division performance can be improved.

“This is the beginning of another journey. Same mission, but more focused. Focus on enhancing teachers’ pedagogical skills to enhance student achievement,” Dr. Ogayon challenged.

The two-day event closed as everybody welcomed the start of the division’s next chapter by accepting the challenge in the person of Mr. Dexter Valle, Principal of Dalahican Elementary School. (Azalea A. Gallano, SEPS-Planning & Research, SDO Lucena City)
