Schools Division of Lucena City joined in DepEd’s annual campaign Oplan Balik Eskwela (OBE) and the Public Assistance Station (PAS) for School Year (SY) 2017 – 2018 to ensure the smooth opening of classes, May 29 – June 16.

The OBE and the PAS primarily aimed to address the problems commonly encountered at the start of the school year to ensure that learners are already properly enrolled and able to attend school by the first day of classes.

Dr. Joepi F. Falqueza, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, chaired this year’s OBE campaign with his members SGOD-Chief  Epifania F. Carandang, CID-Chief Josephine T. Natividad, Planning Officer Rolan B. Aldovino, SEPS-SocMob Belen M. Andal, and Legal Division Officer Rufo S. La Rosa. In addition, division personnel were grouped to perform duties and functions on Public assistance hotline, Email/DETxt Service, Walk-in assistance, Quick response team, monitoring unit, secretariat/officer of the day, media relations, and logistics and support unit.

On May 29, Oplan Balik Eskwela Information and Action Center (OBEIAC) was located in front of the Schools Division Office of Lucena City for easy access and addressed local concerns. Public Assistance Hotline was set to receive calls, text messages, fax messages, and emails on complaints, requests and suggestions from parents, students, and other concerned citizens. A help desk was also set-up to accommodate walk-in concerns. Appropriate actions were provided to stakeholder’s concern based on the submitted reports on the implementation and observance of OBE among 57 public elementary and secondary schools.

Moreover, Regional Education Program Supervisors of Curriculum Learning Management Division (CLMD) Jerome Chavez and Jennifer Lopez monitored the opening of classes in public elementary and secondary schools to ensure the implementation of specific guidelines found in Enclosure to DepEd Order No. 25, s. 2017 and to provide support to Schools Division Offices (SDOs) especially in the areas of instruction.
