SDO Lucena City school buildings, especially the newly established secondary schools, will soon rise in the sites donated by the different organizations which were recognized during the Division Education Summit 2017 held at the Lucena City Teachers and Employees Conference Center, Lucena City last June 2.

The division annual activity with the theme “Beyond Boundaries” honored the different organizations as represented by Mrs. Marylou J. Marcelino, Engr. Celestial S. Flancia, Mr. Rolando T. Jao and Mr. Alaine Paul P. Ravanzo. They donated school sites for Lucena North III Elementary School, Lucena City National High School (NHS) —Mayao Castillo Extension, Gulang-Gulang NHS—Domoit Extension and Gulang-Gulang NHS—Bocohan Extension, respectively.

Dr. Joepi F. Falqueza, OIC-Assistant SDS, welcomed the attendees and encouraged everyone to continuously support the department in providing quality education to the learners through reaching out to schools.

Meanwhile, City Councilor Anacleto Alcala III represented City Mayor Roderick “Dondon” A. Alcala. He reported plans and activities of the local government for the benefit of the schools in the basic education and also in the tertiary level. Councilor Alcala also mentioned that the city government poses a challenge by providing more and more schools in the barangays. Internal and external stakeholders should be hand in hand in catering education to the “Lucenahin” children.

Moreover, Dr. Aniano M. Ogayon, Schools Division Superintendent, reported the key performance indicators of the division in the access, quality and efficiency categories. He informed the stakeholders on the curriculum implementation and the SHS program where he welcomed book donations and ICT-based resource materials. Dr. Ogayon noted as well the special programs and activities led by the achievement of SDO Lucena in sports where Team Bagong Lucena (TBL) bagged places and medals in the regional and national levels.

In addition, he led the pledge of commitment of partners for the incoming school year.  60 potential partners of the division received Certificate of Appreciation.

The stakeholders pledged learning support, health & nutrition, training & development, and technology programs.

Mr. Wendell L. Perez, Lucena City Public School Teachers and Employees Association (LCPSTEA) President, announced the stakeholder awardees. Among others, the awardees donated school supplies, construction and maintenance assistance, school materials and lands for school sites.
