The Education Support Services  Division conducted a 3 –day training of trainers on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management with 158 participants coming from 20 SDOs in the region on May 29-31 at Splash Mountain Resort, Lalakay, Laguna.  The opening program was graced by SDS Josilyn Solana and Dr. Angelina L. Umali, Chief of ESSD.

The objectives of the training were: to walkthrough the modules; provide basic training on Disaster Risk reduction and Management and create a pool of resource speakers in the region on DRRM..

The participants were taught on 9 different modules on Basic Disaster Risk Reduction and Management through a 3 simultaneous classes. The 20 Division DRR Coordinators served as the resource speakers for the 9 Modules.

On the last day, 9 participants were selected to serve as demonstration teachers. The participants with the guidance of 20 Division DRR Coordinators were able to make an action plan as regards to the conduct of the same training to the field. (Orlando B.
