SDO Cavite launches Division Coaching Series
The Schools Division of Cavite, through the initiative of Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Cherrylou D. De Mesa, launched the Division Coaching Session on School Governance for School Leaders last February 20 at Rosario National High School.
Starting off with 31 school heads from the municipalities of Kawit, Noveleta, and Rosario, the coaching session series aimed to strengthen the competencies of school heads in school administration and management and provide technical assistance on school governance and operations.
The coaching session further discussed appreciative inquiry combined with the profile of the 21st century school heads; hiring guidelines, promotion, and reclassification, as well as granting of service credits; MOOE liquidation, salary and other benefits; common complaints, and procedures in answering complaints; standing policies on the transfer of students and appreciation of foreign documents; status of School Based-Management (SBM), DMEA, and assessment concerns; preparation of training proposals based on NEAP standards; pending approval of LIS and requirements for enrolment; partnership with external stakeholders, resources, and ASP; site ownership, land titling, and building inventory, and; safe learning facilities, school disaster management and risk reduction, and resilience education.
The school heads who attended the coaching session were encouraged to ask questions to clarify issues and concerns that are relevant in the effective and smooth functioning of schools. Furthermore, teachers with issues and concerns were encouraged to visit the help desk set up by the SGOD, subject to the condition that they will do so after their classes and during lunch break only.
The coaching session series is scheduled to be conducted throughout the Division. Naic-Maragondon-Ternate Cluster and Indang-Mendez Cluster were scheduled on February 24. Silang and Alfonso-Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo-Magallanes Cluster on March 6. Tanza-Trece Martires City Cluster, on March 7. Lastly, Gen. Trias-Amadeo Cluster and Carmona-GMA-Tagaytay Cluster were scheduled on March 8.
