Carandang, Collar grace ASP MOA signing and Water System groundbreaking

Chief SGOD Epifania F. Carandang and City Mayor’s representative Jo Collar graced the Adopt-A-School Program (ASP) MOA signing and Water System Groundbreaking from Rotary Club of Lucena Circle (RCLC) at Lucena City National High School-Mayao Parada Extension (LCNHS-MPE) last January 14.

The Php 216,000-worth WATER Project of Rotary Club of Lucena Circle (RCLC) or mostly known as Water Access as a Tool on creating a school Environment Responsive to Learning aimed to respond on the needs of the environment as part of the LCNHS-MPE learning community. The school is headed by OIC-Principal Mr. Rey Aleman through the efforts of Ritchelda D. Abadilla, their former OIC-Principal and Angelo S. Villanueva (former teacher).

Carandang gave a message of acceptance and gratitude. She emphasized the importance of water as primary needs of the school saying that “water is life” and “may pera sa lupa, kaya pagyamanin” (as quoted by the SDS, Dr. Aniano M. Ogayon).

Likewise, Collar, the City Mayor’s representative, paved the importance of partnership between the schools and stakeholders. He reiterated that the City Government is one of the partners of SDO Lucena City in providing students’ welfare and promoting quality education for all Lucenahins.

Meanwhile RCLC President Nicksy Nicdao said that the project is just the beginning of extending help and support to LCNHS-MPE, adding that they should expect more assistance from the RCLC. He requested the school’s stakeholders to be responsible in taking good care of the WATER Project. In addition, RCLC also donated educational reference books.

DepEd, LCNHS-MPE teachers, students, and the GPTA Officers participated on the said event.
