DepEd Cavite City holds Division Training on the Use of Pedagogical Approaches for SHS Teachers

To answer the call on the imperatives of K-12 which aimed at improving the mastery on basic competencies of the students, developing teaching through the use of enhanced pedagogies and medium of instructions which will provide better preparation for higher learning, DepEd Cavite City spearheaded by Dr. Rosemarie D. Torres together with the untiring support of Senior High School Division Coordinator, Mr. Rogin O. Contemprato and the undeniable expertise of SPNHS Principal, Mrs. Bernardita H. Bencito, CNHS Principal Mr. Augusto D. Ferma Jr. and  Assistant Principal, Mr. Randie L. Salonga, the three-day Division Training on the use of Pedagogical Approaches for SHS Teachers succeeded in capacitating the SHS teacher-participants which was held at CNHS AVR, Sept. 22-24, 2016.

Dr. Rosemarie D. Torres, SDS of the Division of Cavite City graced the said event by expressing her words of encouragement to the 25 participants coming from CNHS and SPNHS for them to adapt and apply the teaching pedagogies that they will acquire from the said training in their daily teaching-learning experiences.

The first day has been scheduled for the following lectures: Facilitation Skills shared by Mr. Randie L. Salonga; 4a’s in Teaching imparted by Mrs. Benardita H. Bencito and Contructivist Approach taught by Mrs. Marissa M. Esteban. While on the second day, Collaborative Approach was given by Mr. Marvin A. Arnaldo; Inquiry-based Approach conducted by Mr. Fernando N. Estrañero; Integrative Approach conveyed by Ms. Jeaneveve P. Nonan and Reflective Approach discussed by Mrs. Daisy B. Bautista. Finally, on the third day, selected Senior High School teachers showcased their competencies on their respective subject areas: namely, Mrs. Elisa Lajera, Mrs. Myra D. Suan, Mrs. Sheila Lee, Mrs. Rea Topacio, Mr. Marcel Segismundo, Mrs. Josefina Justo and Mr. Gary V. Samo.

The seminar crafted to empower the SHS participants is another breakthrough which has been initiated by DepEd Cavite City to equip their learners to have the mastery of the basic competencies and to provide them with the 21st century’s skills to be developed in preparation for their higher education or for employment.
