SDO LIPA spearheads Teachers’ Induction Program
A two-day Teachers’ Induction Program composed of 67 elementary teachers, 27 from the Junior High School and 57 from the Senior High School, was held at Mountain Rock Resort, Talisay, Lipa City on August 11-12, 2016.
The said training was initiated through the untiring effort of Dr. Ludy N. Pasagui-OIC, Schools Division Superintendent, Mr. Homer N. Mendoza-OIC, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, and Mrs. Minerva C. Caraos, Chief Education Supervisor, School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD).
This training plays a vital role in carrying out the department’s vision and mission. It aimed to orient them on the Enhanced Basic Education pursuant to R.A. 10533, as well as to appropriate support, transmit culture of the school and their chosen profession, and to promote professional and personal well-being of the new teachers.
Participants were capacitated with knowledge and skills they needed to face the challenges that their profession can offer through plenary discussion. The topics highlighted were as follows: 1) Personnel, Policies, Rules and Procedures, 2) Learners’ Information Systems, 3) Child Protection Policy/Child Friendly School, 4) Results – Based Performance Management System, 5) Code of Ethics, 6) Overview of the CIP 7) Positive Discipline in Everyday Teaching, and 8) The Teaching Profession and Commitment.
The two-day training made them aware and fully understand the work that they indulged in. As Dr. Ludy Pasagui underscored in her challenging message, “Newly – hired teachers are expected to be more effective and efficient as their journey begins”.
