Quipper Conference highlights on Innovative Learning Environments for K-12 Educators

The Quipper Conference  highlighted “Creating Innovative Learning Environments for K-12 Educators”, a series of plenary and breakout sessions with 300 professional educators held at Richmonde Hotel, Eastwood, Quezon City on May, 13.

Ms. Reiko Komiyana, Head of Recruit Institute Next Generation Education Japan, discussed on “Implementing K-12 with Innovative Learning Environments in other Countries”. She also emphasized the future work of educators for the next five years.

Dr. Virgilio Manzano, the country Representative for the International Association for the Advancement of Curriculum Studies, talked about “Enhancing Innovation in ASEAN using Comparative Education”. He cited facts on innovations in the K-12 curriculum such as Mother Tongue Based Multilingual Education, Outcome-Based Education, and Competency- Based teacher training while Dr. Maria Teresa Namoro, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent of Division of Makati, tackled on “K-12 case study-Makati”. She mentioned the programs, projects and services of their Division that could served as basis on how to deal with the problems encountered.

The program included breakout-workshop sessions in the afternoon covering trends and best practices for students and teachers, basic components for creating an effective learning environment, policies for the 21st century classroom, tools for effective 21st century teaching, workshop on instructional design plus Quipper school create, learning analytics with Quipper school link and learn, and flipped learning with Quipper video.

The Schools Division Office of Lucena participated in the said event composed of Dr. Aniano M. Ogayon, Schools Division Superintendent; Cristina M. Rogelio, Division ITO; Leilani P. Tan, North 1 teacher; Christine Joy F. Carandang, East V II teacher; Angelito R. Villalon, Lucena City National High School teacher, and Marilyn L. Bristol, Dalahican National High School.
