It was honored for exceeding the BLT standards for food safety and quality, and its innovative approaches to working with the community to sustain the program.

“Our success will not be possible without the help of our education partners who are active in our school programs and projects which focuses on our children’s welfare”, John Andolf A. Abairo, School Feeding Coordinator, shared his secret in coordinating with their stakeholders. He added that the BLT program being supported by JGF aimed to increase the health nutritional status of pupils in public schools from undernourished to well-nourished by providing them lunch daily.

According to Mr. Abairo, BLT feeding program is vital in their school since many of their children belong to undernourished. Through this, they noticed that their pupils became more attentive and participative in school activities, the absenteeism and drop-out rate in their school decreased evidently.
