Santa Rosa election supervisors, BEIs join nationwide AES Webinar
City of Santa Rosa, Laguna – experiencing first-hand the power of information technology, the election officers join the nationwide web-based seminar conducted by DepEd, COMELEC and Rappler on May 3 aiming to amply prepare them and reinforce their knowledge in the Automated Election System.
A webinar is a presentation, lecture, workshop or a seminar that is transmitted over the web using video conferencing software with interactive elements: the ability to give, receive, and discuss in real time. A live webcast by the COMELEC done at the Rappler Office in Pasig City, is watched remotely from the ICT Learning Center, Santa Rosa Elementary School Central III where election supervisors, and select BEIs from schools are gathered. Stable internet connection, and fully functional computers are vital in this important webinar.
Schools Division Superintendent Helen A. Ramos promptly responding to DepEd Memo 69 series of 2016 immediately called for the assembly of the election supervisors, and Board of Election Inspectors and prepared the necessary arrangements and granted the use of the ICT Learning Center on this event.
Subsequent to the stipulation of the SDS, ICT Officer Jason T. Fabella of DepEd Division of Santa Rosa City is on the forefront of this event facilitating the participation of election supervisors and BEIs. “It is good that our internet connection in the ICT Hub is stable that we did not experience difficulty and technical glitches during the webinar.” Fabella remarked.
Among the addressed issues and concerns in the webinar, is the Supreme Court decision on the issuance of voting receipts and the recent amendments to the General Instructions. BEIs and Election supervisors are also oriented on specific function of the Vote Counting Machine (VCM).
