Batangas Province rolls out seminar-workshop on SHS staffing

Batangas Province conducted a Division Roll Out cum Workshop on the importance of E-tool in preparing Class Schedule and Teacher-Need Analysis.  It was attended by Senior High School principals and teachers at Taal Central School, Taal, Batangas on April 29.

As early as 7:30 am, 48 school principals or the curriculum planners and teachers arrived for the registration.

The workshop was commenced with an opening program hosted by the School Heads of Taal District. The singing of the Philippine National Anthem was conducted by Mrs. Elsie Ramirez, Head Teacher III of Carmino Biscocho Memorial Elementary School.  Mrs. Rhodora E. Gonzales, Principal I of Tulo Elementary School led the prayer. Immediately after the prayer, Mrs. Rona Hernandez, Principal II of Taal Central School welcomed the participants.

Mr. Aries Dimaano, Division Planning Officer recognized the Senior High School participants of Batangas Province.  He also made an announcement about the finalization of the LIS.

Dimaano shared his knowledge on the use of the Electronic Tool to the curriculum planners.  He reiterated that the E-tool is not a contingency tool but a management tool. He mentioned that the E-tool is a must for Senior High School for it facilitates the execution of the lesson that benefits both teachers and students.  He clearly explained the Electronic Class Program and the Teacher-need tool that will determine the number of teacher-items that will be given in a school.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Macaria Carina Carandang, Education Program Supervisor for TLE, oriented the school heads on the role of technology in preparing the SHS staffing.  Prior to the date of the workshop, she had announced to all SHS principals to bring a laptop, flash drive, extension cord and other gadgets that will be used in the E-tool preparation of class schedule and in assessing the number of teachers needed per track and strand both in Academics and TVLE.

Following the instructions on the use of the E-tool, the School Heads were able to prepare their class schedules.

RO Representative inspires Batangas School Heads

Ms. Ma. Criscel R. Negosa of RO Public Affairs Unit talked about the current Senior High School Program issues.

Everybody listened attentively to Ms. Negosa, when she gave her message. She emphasized the modern technology tools that maximize teacher allocation and minimize the wastage of human resource. The tool will monitor SHS program offerings, teachers, profile, class programs and teachers’ need. She encouraged the use of the SHS electronic tool and she also stressed that technology truly helps teachers to become more effective and efficient.

She shared one of RD San Antonio’s messages during the SHS Staffing assembly in NEAP, “Gone are the days when teachers need to write everything from school forms to lesson plans to computation of grades.  This is because of this innovation”.

This challenged the participants and nobody stopped until they came up with their Electronic Class Schedule.  One representative per area presented his/her output to the audience before the session ended.

Area Chairpersons accept the challenge

The challenge posted by Ms. Negosa was accepted by Mrs. Edita Canatuan of Area 4, Mrs. Chelly De Leon of Area 3, Dr. Gabriel Roco of Area 2 and on behalf of Dr. Wilson Ojales, Mrs. Cristina Perez of Area 1.  In their words of acceptance, they sincerely voiced out their support to the SHS program.
