CALABARZON dominates 2014 NSPC, retains crown

For the 2nd time, CALABARZON Journalists outshined other regions during the 2014 National Schools Press Conference held at Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Olongapo City.
CALABARZON was hailed over-all champion in the Elementary and Secondary Levels, both in the individual and group contests.
The rigid and continuous trainings of the young writers under the supervision of the Education Program Supervisors, Educational Media Administrators and School Paper Advisers paid off and bore fruits of success. The success of the event is “Para sa Diyos, at sa bayan… Para sa CALABARZON”, as said by Ms. Jennifer Lopez, Regional Supervisor in English.
For the individual contests in Filipino Category for the Elementary level, Region IV-A won 2nd, 4th and 6th place in Science and Health Writing; 1st, 2nd and 4th place in Photojournalism; 2nd place in News Writing; 6th place in Feature Writing; 4th and 2nd place in Sports Writing; 1st place Editorial Cartooning and 1st, 3rd and 4th place in Copyreading and Headline Writing. The Region was hailed champ in Collaborative Publishing and 3rd place in Radio Broadcasting.
Winnings in the English Category, Elementary Level, include 1st, 5th and 6th place in Science and Health Writing; 5th place in Feature Writing; 4th in Sports Writing; 3rd place in Editorial Cartooning; and 1st and 3rd place in Copyreading and Headline Writing. CALABARZON also brought home 2nd place in Collaborative Publishing.
The region’s competitors National Capital Region (NCR) placed 2nd overall, and Region III (Central Luzon) won the 3rd place overall.
